All eyes on: Le Metier de Beaute

I recently tested Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Complexe, a tinted base, skincare, and SPF hybrid. It comes in 3 different shades (I use 2, for reference) and it provides sheer to light coverage. This is a retinol-based product, and if you’re an ingredient junkie like me, then you already know that using retinol is one of the most effective ways to prevent aging. Peau Vierge is rather light in texture but smooths the skin nicely, giving its user the option to layer other products on top for additional coverage or wear it bare. The biggest difference I’ve noticed after a few weeks of use is skin clarity — areas that are usually red and irritated from past breakouts are calmed and toned down. The fact that I know it’s also working to prevent fine lines and wrinkles is just icing on the cake for me.

Being the shadow-obsessed gal I am, I can be picky about ones that make their way into my collection. I’m impressed with the formula of True Color Eye Shadow because they’re just so, so creamy and blendable. Texture is the most important aspect of a shadow, followed by pigmentation — and these have both. If you looked up the true definition of “satin” in the dictionary — a photo of LMdB shadows would be next to it — that’s how nice they feel. So how exactly are they so amazing? They’re quadruple-milled. Yes . . . that’ll do it.

Le Metier de Beaute’s lip products are also worth writing home about. My favorite is the Lip Creme, which comes in 14 shades. Moroccan Suset and Dulce de Leche are some standouts that are perfect for this Spring. These lippies are thicker than traditional lip glosses, but not quite as thick as a liquid lipstick. They provide a bit more coverage than lip gloss as well, but if that’s not your cup of tea, try Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss (Dubai and La Belle are my personal faves!) These are sheer but feel extra hydrating on the lips, and have a beautiful, sparkling multi-dimensional shine.

I use Dualistic Lip Pencil in Nudite, a perfect medium-toned nude, paired with all of the lip products I previously mentioned. This is definitely a shade that works with everything. I’ve even over-lined my lips using this pencil — and while that look normally makes me feel ridiculous and fake, the color complimented my skin nicely and I kept it on for an entire night. This has never happened before!
